EMDR intensives are structured sessions designed to provide a concentrated and targeted approach for addressing traumatic events and troublesome symptoms. These extended therapy sessions typically span multiple days, allowing individuals to work intensively with skilled therapists in processing challenging memories and developing effective coping mechanisms. The structured and organized nature of EMDR intensives facilitates a comprehensive exploration of the root causes of distress, leading to rapid progress and significant breakthroughs. This format is particularly beneficial for individuals seeking efficient and impactful therapeutic outcomes that can bring lasting relief and healing. This may also be appropriate if your current therapist does not provide EMDR and you want to continue working with them before and after.

The format of EMDR intensives enables individuals to delve deeper into processing traumatic experiences, expediting the healing process. Clients undergoing EMDR intensives often experience significant progress in a shorter timeframe, making it a valuable option for those with limited availability or specific issues that need to be addressed promptly. The concentrated nature of EMDR intensives promotes a sense of continuity and focus, resulting in more rapid and impactful results in dealing with various emotional challenges.

EMDR intensives can vary in format based on the client's needs and the availability of both the client and therapist. Sessions may involve up to six hours a day over two days, or smaller increments of time (e.g., 2-3 hours) over several consecutive days to accommodate individual preferences and schedules.
